Making Monday Memories part 3

Red and White.....choke...... choke........
This doesn't mean I have to give up my BYU Blue does it????? No way!! But I do have to respect the new colors of Mac's new University.

Rutgers University

The last day we were in New Jersey and we were just so sick of unpacking and cleaning and we just needed to get out of the house. So Mac took us around Campus. There are four Rutgers campus's in the New Brunswick area. He lives on the Busch campus, but may be teaching on the Cook-Douglas campus and/or College Ave. campus. There is also the Livingston Campus. The one we went to visit is the College Avenue campus. I took the following pictures so my family could get a feel of what the campus looks like. Rutgers is rich in tradition and the architecture of the buildings is beautiful. There were dates on the buildings dating back to 1766.

Beautiful flowers all over Campus mostly in
RED.

Rutger Flags fly all over Campus.

Note the Red "R" in the window.

Loved this photo Mac took.

Many of the buildings on this Campus had RED doors.

I made Mac stand on the corner of the Campus for this photo.
I just want to say here how proud we are of Mac and all that he has accomplished in school. Even though he has a lot of school left, we support him 100%. For those of you that do not know Mac has a duel major at BYU for his Bachelors degree in Latin American Studies and Horticulture. He has used his Horticulture experience to work on Temple Square in Salt Lake City as well as other places. That is why he is always commenting on my blog about the kinds of trees and stuff. He is currently finishing up his Spanish Masters Degree at BYU and is almost finished with his Thesis which he will return to defend in the next few months. He was offered a "Fellowship" at Rutgers University and was their number one doctoral candidate in his specialty. This means his tuition will be totally paid, plus he will receive a small stipend. He will be teaching at Rutgers as well. There is a lot of stress associated with this doctorate, but I know he will do well. He is such a good teacher and loves the literature which is where his love is. He has a talent for writing which is why he was offered this Fellowship. It will take him 4-5 years to complete this degree. Three shouts for Mac. He is also a good father husband and son and I love him so much. Doug and I are so proud of him and all he has accomplished so far.
Congratulations Mac!!!

Looks like you guys had quite the adventure!! So nice that you and Doug were able to go out and help them get settled. Is Mac there for school? I'm assuming so, what is he studying?

I'm telling you Mom, Rutgers's colors are the same as your alma mater Weber High so there really shouldn't be a conflict. I'm glad you got back safely and that you were able to catch a glimpse at where I'll be for awhile. We now have internet access and we are still trying to figure out our telephone service problems.
By the way, I live on the Busch campus and I will be taking and teaching classes on the Cook/Douglass and College Avenue campuses.

How exciting for Mac and his family. I have really enjoyed reading your blog even though I am left in tears after reading it. You are such a neat person and so is your family. Oh, and I am going private and I do not have your email address. Let me know what it is.
