Pictures on this post by veronicareeve.com

Miss Farrah is TWO!!!

We are missing Farrah here at home, but she did call me this morning and thank me for the Mickey Mouse book.... what book? Actually Carly bought her a coat with her Birthday money. She is talking so cute now and I love checking out Carly's blog and seeing pictures of her. I guess at two she has out grown her "Punky Bwooster" nickname. I will have to come up with a different nickname now........maybe "Blondie" like her grandpa calls her. I will have to think about that. But for now...........Hope your day was lots of fun and that someone sang "Christmas Time, Easter Rhyme to you.................Happy Birthday Farrah !!!!!!!!!!!!

The following are some of my favorite pictures Veronica took of Farrah. They tell a story.....

Pop!!!!

DIET BE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been on a diet since February 19th. I have lost 30+ pounds drinking protein shakes, eating protein bars, flax seed, Vitamins, unsweetened cranberry juice water, raw almonds, and one lousy meal a day. I have been sooooooooooooo good. But tonight all that ended because of these little morsels..........

The EVIL "Wilson" sugar cookies. I knew as I was making them that there would be trouble, but hey! It is Farrah's Birthday and I was missing her, and so in her honor I made four dozen cookies, frosted with various shades of pink, almond flavored frosting and sprinkles. [Note the "F" for Farrah]. Let's just say I ate more than 6 and less than 12. I did it for you Farrah.... Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

Causey Dam Kokanee Salmon Hike....

Debbie, Brenda, Vickie, Sally and me

This week we took an early morning hike to Causey Dam. Every year in the fall the Kokanee Salmon spawn. They swim upstream to where they were born, they lay eggs, and die. It is a beautiful hike, a beautiful moment in time and one everyone needs to experience it at least once in a life time. I first heard about it from my son-in law Aaron Wolthuis. He used to take his "English as a second language" students on this hike in the fall. He has kept up that tradition as he is now teaching Spanish at SnowCrest and he takes his Spanish students as well as the science students on this hike. It is not a hard hike, but it is a beautiful hike. As you can see Causey was beautiful on this Saturday morning.

Views of the dam from the trail.

Here are some pictures of the Salmon running. Enjoy these pictures. The Salmon are from 10 - 12 inches long. The males have humps on their backs. We saw some in all stages of spawning. They are fighters as they continually swim upstream.

The Annual [sometimes semi-annual "Friend Trip"

Every year Doug and I go on a trip with friends. The same friends, The "best" friends. Tomorrow I will do a "Monday Memory" about past trips. Tonight I will share this years trip to Island Park/West Yellowstone.

The Shaw's invited us to go to their new cabin about10 minutes west of West Yellowstone.

This cabin is beautiful and very roomy. It has a kitchen/ family/game room all in one with high ceilings. Master bedroom and bath on main level, full basement with work shop, two bedrooms upstairs and a loft. It came complete with furniture, big screen TV, and a deck around the cabin.

To entertain ourselves we played wii. Dennis and Lynn tried their hands at Boxing.

But the biggest competition was the bowling game between Linda and Dianne. It was a duel to the finish..

Linda won by a hair and rocked the house with her antics. This was Dianne's best game. Check out the score!!

We also went to Island park to eat dinner.

Good food, good friends, good times!

Dianne and Dennis Shaw

Linda and Dave Carver

Lynn and Maureen Peterson

Scary picture of Doug and me.

After we ate we went back to the cabin for more wii, pool, reading, blogging on the computer, early morning walks, beautiful views..............

View from the cabin....
And of course, we fit in some power naps.........

This makes it look like Doug was the only napper, but Linda won the prize.

We went to West Yellowstone one day and went to see "Lewis and Clark" at the Imax, and then did some shopping. I bought some winter running clothes for a "bargain"........and then of course, we ate some more..................

Dave was in a "funk" because his reunion was over [Ogden High 1968 he planned the whole thing]. I was pre-occupied because mine [Weber High1968] was in a week and I needed to keep up the blog. We bought Dave a "Yettie" [Big Foot] shirt to cheer him up....he is obsessed with the "Yettie'.

As usual we had a great trip and laughed a lot and just enjoyed each others company. Thanks Dennis and Dianne for a great trip and for your hospitality. By the way, they have another cabin in Island park where we have stayed before and it is for sale if anyone is in the market..........

Where have I been???????????

My friend Sally Oyler Pincomb and me on the deck at the Deer Valley House
at our 40th High School reunion.

I have been missing in action on my blog, but really I have been Verrrry busy. To see what I have been doing go to http://www.weberhighschoolclassof68.blogspot.com/. We just had our 40th High School reunion and I was in charge of the blog. Carly designed it of course. But I did the actual posts. I am quite proud of how it turned out. It was a lot of work. I loved the links to "classmates bio's" and the special link to "Those who have passed". Watch out!!! 40 years sneaks up on you fast. Talk about Monday Memories.....This was 40 years worth in one night.
Good Old Weber.....................Grand Old Weber......

Myself, Greg Burnett, and Patrice Moyes Archibald at the reunion.
