Summer and soccer......

Summer and Soccer they just go together.
Recently I went to Cache Valley to watch Analyn play in a tournament there.
Analyn is an amazing Soccer Player.
They took 2nd place as the game went to a "shoot out" and "sudden death".
Analyn is the goalie, but she also plays forward and scored the only 2 goals in regulation time.
It was fun to watch her play.
Holly coached some of the games and did a wonderful job.
It brought back a lot of memories.

Analyn and her team with their trophy.

Traditional "handshake".

Analyn and soccer friends.

Goalie Analyn is ready...

Just hangin with Soccer friends.

"Summer and Soccer" was our life as we raised our Kids.
All of the kids played and all were good soccer players.

We went to many summer tournaments where I coached and refereed.

Most of the time I coached Nikki's team where I grew to love all of those girls.

Here is a picture taken at the "Cottonwood Tournament" in SLC

where our team took 1st place.

I can't tell you how much fun those tournaments were

however sometimes.... there were casualties....

like the year I was in the sun for three straight days

both coaching and reffing and ended up

with cold sores all over my lips...

HUGE cold cores from the "heat" and "stress" combined.

My lips were blown up like "Botox hell".

Another time I was at a "Laker Tournament" reffing..

and some guy on one of the teams did not like my call and yelled across the field...."You Huntsville B@#!* go home where you came from"...

Well, some tournament officials heard him and let's just say he did not watch anymore games in that tournament.

AYSO....you got to love it.

AYSO had a "National Tournament" one year in California and Nikki was lucky enough to make the team. Here is a picture with her team. Kelli Carver Booth was also on this team. Nik would go on to play with and against many of these girls in local tournaments and also at the the High School State Tournament.

Robin, Nik, and Carly all played Soccer for WEBER HIGH.

Those soccer years were some of my most cherished.

Til next summer...........and more soccer.
