Stringtown snow runnin...........

Saturday I enjoyed my first "snowy" run down Stringtown road [5900 East] in
Eden. I ran about 7:00 AM and it was so fabulous!!!! There is nothing like leaving
foot prints in the snow, and the quiet of an early morning run down a dead end road.

Doug took this picture of me as I finished up my run:

It wasn't the "coldest day" I have run in the past........

This was taken in the 80's. It was probably minus 10 degrees or more. If you look close you can see frost on individual hairs around my face.

Nor was it the Snowiest!!

Another "Stringtown" run. This time January 23 1982. This was taken by an Ogden Standard Examiner Photographer. He stopped to ask me my name, but I didn't talk to him cause I thought he was a pervert until I saw this in the newspaper. Therefore the picture said "....a jogger makes her way along what could be a record year spring runoff in Huntsville's winter wonderland."

Not only did I miss my claim to fame as a jogger, but the guy didn't even know where he was....really.... "Huntsville"????...dah..... "Eden" !!!!

This post made me shiver. You will probably never catch me jogging in the snow. You are a die hard mom.

You have truly inspired me! I keep using the "it's too cold outside to run" excuse. After seeing your pictures I am more motivated to go outside and run no matter what the temp is. You are one awesome woman!

There is photo where there is an owl perched on the roof of a car right behind you and you have apparently been jogging or something but I don't think that it was a winter-time photo. Or was it?
Another question: who took the picture where you have a ice-snot mustache? Did you wake up Dad to take it or was he already awake? Do you remember if he thought it was funny?
Anyway, I sadly do not personally remember your early jogging era but I do think I remember that picture coming out in the newspaper.

I love these pictures. I do remember your early jogging days. I remember them because of the smell. I'll never forget how you smelled when you came in from exercising outside. You know the smell. You can smell it right now if you think about it. I'm sure my kids smell that same thing when I come back from jogging. I guess I'm carrying on the memory.
Whenever I think it's too cold outside to exercise I remember myself jogging in early February of last year getting ready for Ragnar. Christian was right there with me with his hat and coat on in the jogger. I don't remember being too cold, although Christian probably was!
