More July 2011 Stuff

WHAT A BLESSING.....

BROOKE'S THAT IS.

Brooke was blessed the first Sunday in July by her Dad.

It was a wonderful day with lots of family celebrating

Beautiful baby girl.

The next day we celebrated the 4th of July

Eden style with the only Parade in Town....

Eden Town that is.

Where else can you find a parade where the Fire Department vehicles and the tail end of the parade [our own UHP patrol residence] is longer than the whole parade. Here are a few pics from that parade. The kids love it. They feel like they are big time.

Wolthuis Kids

Farrah's 1st year on a Bike.

Also in July.....

A visitor from the past....

As mentioned before Doug Retired.

This is Jerry who was a fireman with Doug and Kay

years ago at the Eden Fire Station.

He came to visit Doug.

Doug got his Axe from the Union for his years of service.

Last but not least,

the FERRIN REUNION

It was my family's year to be in charge.

We had a "Happy Birthday Lillie" theme.

We even bought her a cake and had balloons.

We gathered pictures from everyone of mother.

I will share some of them in my next post.

It is amazing that we have so many pictures of her.

She was after all born in 1911.

And that is where we are so far in July and it is not even the 15th yet!

Stay tuned....

Crazy Weekend!!

I had a very busy weekend. Party after Party after Alka Seltzer!

But first the good part.

I went on a walk early Friday morning and this is what I saw:

My neighbor at the end of our road has the most beautiful yard. One of my favorite parts is this ground cover she has planted. It changes colors throughout the year. It was especially beautiful Friday Morning. I also saw two ducks fly out from the ditch just 3 feet from me. As they flew away, their wings looked transparent in the sun. Then I heard and then saw two Sand Hill Cranes fly over my head. I could hear an owl in the distant pine tree, and doves hovering on the lines above my head. What a glorious morning. I did not think it could get better.

But then I took a bike ride and saw this:

What a sweet treat of summer............

Thank you Spring/you were wet/but look what you left behind.

Candy for the eyes.......and we all know how much I love Candy!!

3rd, 4th, 5th of JUly..................Party on

I don't know about you, but this year has been confusing as to when to celebrate... but here is a glimpse into our celebration.

Saturday the 3rd

Eden Breakfast

Eden Parade

Huntsville Parade

Ride north to Tremonton and beyond

Quiet night listening from afar to Fireworks

Sunday the 4th

Amazing RS, Sunday School Lessons and Testimony Meeting.......

all on "Gratitude" for Freedoms and Forefathers....

GO USA!!!

Monday the 5th

Hiking

Here are some PICS for the events:
EDEN BREAKFAST

Next it was the

EDEN PARADE:

The cousins line up [wake up Farrah]

Hey Where is LUKE?????

The "Spectators" [Armstrong's and Summers] wait with Baited Breath for the Event.

But don't blink those eyes!!!

Here is the 1st of the parade [Look close to see EMMA]

Emma is on the right with the flag on her bike and the cute sticker on her face.

Christian and Lindsey are almost out of the picture.

Only in Eden can we find 4 wheel Horses

Look close for the "Horse Heads"

Then of course there is the 5 minute break before the 2nd half of the parade arrives.

Farrah gets a little help from her friend Martin

Last year it was a "Wagon"....this year a tricycle pulled by Martin...

maybe next year a real bike with training wheels.

Farrah brings up the tail end of the parade.

The reward is..............

Popsicles!!!

And of course we can't leave out the Huntsville Parade:

Here are some of my favorite entries:

Big Foot!!

This is Dave Carver's entry and if you have not heard, there is a ....

BIG FOOT CONVENTION

JULY 26TH AT HUNTSVILLE PARK

complete with TEXAS PRIDE BARBECUE

MUSIC and BIG FOOT tales from right here

in the VALLEY.

Don't miss this EVENT

I doubt you will ever see the likes of it again.

Another favorite entry was the entry from

VALLEY HAIR....

....only in a local parade

and there was the

RIGHT TO 'BARE' ARMS FLOAT...

Get it....."bare" arms.....

My favorite "Family" float was the Froerer

DRAGON float complete with "Prince and Princess".

After the Parade we ventured over to the park where they had a

patriotic program and of course the refreshing

"Snow cones".

The one "oops" of the day was when we lost

Christian for a minute.

But that was just a minor set back to a wonderful day.

A Barbecue on Sunday completed our celebration.

I am grateful for Family and reasons to get together.

We missed Mac and Robin's Family's.

Happy 3rd, 4th, and 5th......

until we meet again.....

4th of July in Eden......

What the World needs now is Love sweet love and I LOVE the 4th of July in Eden.
Where else can you get Breakfast and then have the county shut you down because you have no permit...woops!!!!
Who knew there was a "scrooge" in July.
Where else can you have Brenda Murray and daughter lead you in Patriotic Songs?

Where else can you have a "Primary Parade" where the Fire Department engine and ambulance is longer than the whole parade?

Nik and Aaron's family came for the fun. Here are some Pic's from the parade.

Emma

Linds

Christian

Farrah

Campbell wasn't into the parade but she was into swinging and this old comb.

We had great fun in Eden!!!!!

Then went to Huntsville to their parade...way too BIG for us.

LouJean and I listened to the "Patriotic Program" at the Bowery while everyone else walked around and talked to old friends and family.

Had a "Hot Dog" roast for lunch and watched the Huntsville Fireworks from our bedroom window and the Liberty and Wolf Creek Fireworks from the Bathroom window.

We were in bed by 10:30 with no traffic to contend with and no mosquito bites.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!

One more picture...this is why I LOVE the Eden Parade...everyone cheers for everyone!!!!

Thanks Kelly!
