Back on the trails again…….

Usually by now, [June 22nd] I have hiked about all the trails around Ogden at least once. But due to the fact that the weather did not cooperate in May, and one of my hiking partners has plantar fasciitis, [Doug] and another got married and is always busy, [Brenda] and the hiking girls are all busy with gardening classes, grandkids, or vacations, and Nikki has been training for the Wasatch Back- Ragnar relay, and mostly because it is just easier to put on my running shoes and walk out the door, than to get my hiking gear together, I am just now hitting the trails.

Wow, how great it felt! I met Sandy [and Tatra] at 6:30 AM on Saturday at the Wheeler Creek trailhead. It was a bit nippy in the canyon, but the reward was the beautiful views of Snow Basin in the morning sun. We met a few bikers that were up that early and just one other set of hikers who graciously took this picture of us. It was a great hike and I can’t wait to go again. Perhaps I will have to get Mason to go with me. Hopefully he hasn’t out grown his desire to hike with his grandma. Our big hike to the “Wind Rivers” is in August so I have got to find time to hike. But for a “first hike” Wheeler Creek is a great place to start. It was great to be back on the trail....

I hope that I am as physically active as you are one day. I have been trying to get in better shape and you have just made me want to work harder. Hopefully we will see you next week!
